Josh and Rowan: recorded by the host.

Host 1 Hey guys, okay, wait you have to hear this Hi Dragon has three heads and six wings That's not all together and the old myth dragon only has eight heads I know right no way This is random Pokemon facts I'm Josh, today is all about real animals and myths behind the design.

Host 1 You guys are going to love this.

Host 1 Hydragon one better than so hydrogen is based on Yamata no Orochi it's a eight headed dragon from Japanese myths count it three heads and six wings you get nine Kensugi Mori joke that makes one better than Orochi Bro, one better like Take that, old dragon.

Host 1 Listen to this. At first, Hydregon's family was built around a war tank. A tank, dude. The stripes on Zweilis' body were left over from the idea. Can you see it? A tank with stripes?

Host 1 Sugimori said eight full heads would look too messy. So yeah, too messy. So Hydregon got one real head plus arms and wings that look like extra heads. And guess what?

Host 1 Those heads on its arms do not have their own brains. No brains, just for show.

Host 1 Okay, next one close your eyes think sun big bright sun Volcarona six wings are made to look like the sun so cool right what about the baby Larvesta the horns on Larvesta are a nod to the Tower of the Sun that is the big giant sculpture from the 1970 world's fair in Osaka Japan have you seen pictures so big what about the baby wait designer Yusuke Ohama said Volcarona has first had four wings with four it looked like an ordinary moth just a plain moth boring so the team gave it six to make it look more powerful six is way better and they made it look extra awesome because it is a signature Pokemon of the champion in Pokemon Black and White like the big boss Pokemon

Host 1 Okay, pop quiz for you. What is the flattest Pokemon ever? Any guess? It's Stunfisk. Its designer, Mana Ib, wanted to make the flattest Pokemon ever.

Host 1 Flattest ever. That was the goal. At first it was blue, and it was water and electric type. It was based on a goosefish, weird fish, right? Then late in development they changed the types around it became ground and electric It was redrawn to look like a flounder A flat fish Kentsugimori said that there was even a sketch of a person getting a shock from stepping on one ouch watch your feet would you step on one that no way

Host 1 Okay, Okay, last design story. Pikachu! You think it's cute little right mouse right? Nope. Try again. The very first version of Pikachu was not a mouse at all. Its designer, Atsuko Nishida, said her first version looked a little bit like a long Daifuku.

Host 1 This is a Japanese rice cake sweet with ears sticking out. A sweet with ears. Bro can you picture that? she drew the very first version straight into pixel art she did not sketch it on paper first so no copy of it exists today gone poof she also said she based Pikachu's electric cheeks on the way squirrels store food in their cheeks like puffed up cheeks so cute
